Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G unveiled with 7.6-inch Infinity-O display

South Korean tech giant unveiled its new folding smartphone, the Galaxy Fold 2 5G in an event yesterday. The new Galaxy Fold 2 5G is relatively similar to the company’s first folding phone, with the folding mechanism. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t revealed the pricing details of the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G. The new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G will be available in the UK from 7 August 2020 in Mystic Grey and Mystic Bronze color options.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G specifications

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G offers a 7.6-inch Infinity-O display that has a screen resolution of 2208 x 1768 pixels and Ultra-Thin Glass. It also features a 6.23-inch cover display.

The 7.6-inch primary display has a 120Hz refresh rate support with an option to choose different refresh rate option. Both the displays have support for HDR10+. Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865+ processor powered the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G alongside 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of storage.

For cameras, it flaunts a triple-rear camera setup with a combination of 12MP primary lens (f/1.8), 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens. The device sports two front cameras, one at the cover display, and one at the main display. The cameras have a 10-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture.

The folding phone gets juice from a 4500mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging wired, 11W wireless charging, and supports reverse wireless charging as well. On the software front, it runs on the Android 10-based company’s OneUI skin. At last, it has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for authentication.
